Cheers Leroys.

Great watch that. Fantastic player, and such a shame he got injured. Far from humble as well ain't he!

Magical player but then I loved most of that early 80's team...

Re: Alan Devonshire
Cheers that was great.

The 2nd goal, just 38 seconds in, was a little George Best like and I’d not seen it before .
Superb

Re: Alan Devonshire
Absolute mustard that Boots...

Genius of a player especially in his younger non crooked days.. still one of my fav away days at the 1st Semi final at Villa Park... if you ever get the chance to go to one of the Hammer Heroes evenings ask him to tell the story of his man of the match award in the semi... absolutely superb

Best player I've seen in claret and blue .which is a massive fucking compliment.

Re: Alan Devonshire
What a player. You know how good he was when Sir Trev retired a year early because Dev was injured and Frankie Mac says he was the best player he ever played with and that's "after" the injury. £5000 from Southall. One of the bargains of the 20th century for sure.

Re: Alan Devonshire
Nice one Leroys I've bookmarked this to watch later, I've just spent the afternoon revisiting the 2005 Ashes series

Sir Trev was my all time favourite and the best player I saw in the claret & blue, but Dev along with PDC aren't far behind

Loved that echoing from all banks at Upton Park.
Days long gone but never forgotten.

Re: Alan Devonshire
I remember his song being sung repeatedly whilst he had possession of the ball in the first half of the 83-84 season....we sang it a LOT.....

......also my hatred for Wigan began when that cunt team decided to badly dig our better players with Devo being the obvious one and up to that point West Ham were doing very well in the league and I for once thought we were in good shape for a go at the league such was his form.

It may have been that I had 'Devo' shades on though.....
